Pass on the Tradition

 Holy Redeemer Parish has long dedicated itself to the spiritual development of its members through various Educational, Religious and Youth Programs. The Holy Redeemer Education Trust was established in 1993 to assist in continuing the parish’s proud tradition of providing outstanding Catholic educational experiences. The vision of the trust is to produce income to provide ongoing services to the Catholic Community of Holy Redeemer long into the future.

The Trust

 The trust fund promotes the Catholic Educational Programs of Holy Redeemer by providing, among other services:

· Tuition assistance at area Catholic Schools for our parish children

· Acquisition of educational materials for our Catholic educational programs

· Multi-media resources to enhance our Catholic educational programs

The Tradition

Holy Redeemer School opened September 3,1946 with 410 elementary students. The students were taught by the Sisters of the Holy Cross of Notre Dame. From 1952-1955 the high school grades were added; 1956 saw the first high school graduating class at Holy Redeemer. Following the consolidation of Flint area Catholic high schools into Powers Catholic, our school became a K-8 program.

 Several years ago, the economic decline and population shifts in our area necessitated the closure of our K-8   program. Although our school has closed, many of our parishioner’s children attend other area Catholic schools. We continue to provide as much financial assistance to them as possible.

 Our Religious Education program has grown and includes the education of both children and adults. 

Our programs for children include:

· Whole Family Catechesis

· Religious Education

· Vacation Bible School

Our programs for youth include:

· Youth Group

· Summer Missions

· Confirmation Preparation

Our programs for adults include:

· OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)

· Bible Studies

· Small Groups

· Guest Speakers

· Parish Missions

The Support
