Monday of the 27th week Luke 10:20-37
Go and do likewise. This is not a mere suggestion to each of us, but a divine mandate to go and help anyone in difficulties. Go and do likewise is the summary of what Christ is inviting to be and to do. We must translate his love and compassion into actions. Every action of charity that we exercise is a living echo of Christ's identity. Go and do likewise is a clear message to us: salvation is not an abstract idea but a living reality. So, the Good Samaritan is indeed Christ Himself who came to us, put oil and wine in our wounds of our sins, and pays the prize for our healing and recovery by dying for us. Therefore, the love of a neighbor becomes a genuine expression of the love of God. Every neighbor becomes the sacred place where we truly experience the presence of Christ.
Go and do likewise is to go and love as Jesus loves.
Jesus, I trust in you
