Our Lady of the Rosary is a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary by the prayer of the rosary. It originates in medieval monastic practices and the 13th-century appearance of Mary to St. Dominic, founder of the Order of preachers. Our Lady of the Rosary originally was known as our Lady of Victory. It was established by Pope Pius V in 1571 to commemorate the Christian victory at the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571. The triumph of the battle was attributed to the recitation of the Rosary. St. Louis Marie de Montfort reminds in The Secret of the Rosary, that the rosary has an immense spiritual power. It is a powerful weapon for our salvation. Let's offer the rosary everyday for our daily spiritual and material needs.
