Do we see our vocations as a mission that God entrusts to us for his service? In a world where we focus so much on our "ego" causing rivalries, jealousy and completions, John is teaching us that we exist for God, we live for him and our lives become meaningful when it is God's and reflects Christ to the world. Like John the Baptist, let's make room for God to increase in us. "He must increase; I must decrease." Let's trust God in our relationship with him, especially when we pray. May we allow Him to transform us, sanctify us, and to guard us against any form of self-seeking and self-gratification. Let's all sing a new song to the Lord.
