The parable of today highlights prayer as an act of faithful perseverance of those who trust in God’s love and goodness. The goal of prayer is not first of all about material gain but the reception of the Holy Spirit. What we are asking for, knocking for and seeking for a gift far beyond material things but seeking for God himself. Prayer is to become a beautiful journey from petition to communion. Jesus invites us to approach the Father not with doubt but faith, trust and boldness. In prayer, we are children knocking at their father’s home. When the answer seems delayed, do not give up; Every silence becomes an invitation to a deeper intimacy. Keep asking and keep knocking at God’s our true friend’s door!
